Andhra Pradesh: 2-year-old boy trapped in borewell rescued after 12 hours
A two-year-old Chandrashekhar, who fell into an open borewell near Vinukonda in Guntur of Andhra Pradesh was finally rescued after 12 hours of massive rescue operation on Wednesday. The boy was found trapped over 15 feet down in the borewell shaft.

He was shifted to hospital. A rescue operation was launched by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), police and the administration. Oxygen tubes were lowered inside where the boy was trapped. A crater was also being dug parallel to the borewell.
It is learnt that the boy was playing near a cattle shed in his village when he accidentally fell into borewell. His mother, who was tending cattle nearby, did not notice that the boy was playing precariously close to the defunct borewell which had been left uncovered.
