Sophisticated weapons:

During the probe it was found that the gang was dealing with sophisticated weapons.

They were dealing with automatic pistols which were of German make, a police officer associated with the probe informed.

Normally such gangs deal with "Kattas" or country made weapons.

However in this case it has been found that the gang members were dealing with sophisticated pistols which would fetch anything between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 3 lakh.

The police have also found that this was an inter-state racket.

While a major part of the supply was focused on Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the police are also ascertaining their links in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

During the questioning the arrested members confessed that they had clients in both Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. They took the name of BJP MLA and said that he too was purchasing arms from them.

This is just the tip of the ice-berg a police official informed OneIndia.

Their questioning will lead to the names of several more persons who are behind this inter-state racket, the officer also informed.
