Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu Invites Top Companies to Join P4 Poverty Alleviation Scheme
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to personally engage with leaders of India's top 100 companies. His aim is to involve them in the P4 initiative, a poverty alleviation programme known as Public Private People Partnership (PPPP). This programme, launched on March 30 in Amaravati, is designed to uplift underprivileged families through guidance from affluent individuals.

The P4 initiative, also called Margadarsi Bangaru Kutumbam, categorises wealthy individuals who assist the poor as "Margadarsis" or guides. The beneficiaries are referred to as "Bangaru Kutumbam" or golden families. Naidu's plan involves reaching out to CEOs, COOs, CFOs, MDs, and chairpersons of leading companies to encourage their participation in this programme.
Focus on Connecting Guides with Families
During a national executive committee meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Vijayawada, Naidu proposed the P4 initiative to its members. He emphasised the importance of linking guides with Bangaru Kutumbam families and engaging potential guides. A government-established call centre will monitor the programme daily to ensure its effectiveness.
Naidu highlighted that many people are eager to help the poor and suggested transforming P4 into a platform for such efforts. The programme aims for the top 10% of affluent individuals to adopt and support the bottom 20% by providing guidance, mentorship, and financial resources.
Engagement with NRIs and Regular Audits
The Chief Minister plans to interact virtually with Telugu people both in India and abroad. He intends to explain the goals of P4 and invite them to become guides. Additionally, he proposed appointing Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) as P4 advisors and encouraging their participation as guides.
Naidu called for regular audits of P4's implementation. He suggested quarterly reviews and timely feedback for guides through reports on the programme's impact. Special events with industrialists, NRIs, celebrities, and elite society members are also planned to promote P4 participation.
Monitoring Progress and Celebrating Achievements
The Chief Minister directed officials to establish systems providing necessary information for those interested in becoming guides. Surveys will assess family conditions before and after their adoption as Bangaru families to evaluate improvements in living standards.
Naidu proposed celebrating March 30 annually to showcase P4's achievements. During a review meeting, he focused on identifying Margadarsis and selecting beneficiaries. Officials reported that out of 19,15,771 identified Bangaru Kutumbam families across the state, 87,395 have been adopted by Margadarsis so far.
Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu recently adopted ten poor families after participating in the P4 inauguration. The Chief Minister encouraged ministers, bureaucrats, and others to become Margadarsis as well.
