Amul gets nostalgic! gives a tribute to national hero Neerja
Mumbai, Feb 24: Celebrating the success of the film 'Neerja', which is based on the life and death of the national hero Neerja Bhanot, Amul has released a 1980s ad featuring Bhanot. Neerja Bhanot was killed saving the 359 passengers onboard a Pan Am flight that was hijacked in 1986.
Neerja is being played by Sonam Kapoor and directed by Ram Madhvani.
In the ad, a kid says,"I am too old for tricycles, too young to be a pilot." And Neerja, playing the mother, says,"But you're just right for Amul chocolate."
Apart from being a stewardess at the Pan Am airlines, Neerja was also a model. The highly acclaimed film on the real superhero of the nation has won many hearts and inspired many. Neerja was the youngest civilian at the age of 23 to receive the Ashoka Chakra , India's highest peacetime gallantry award.
