Amritpal used to beat his wife regularly: Intel
An intelligence report has claimed that 'Waris Punjab De' chief and Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh, who continues to elude the cops, had kept his wife in captivity and beat her up regularly. The report further mentioned that Amritpal was also associated with several other women.
The report said Amritpal has been leading a lavish lifestyle in Dubai without adhering to Sikh tenets and was not an Amritdhari Sikh, news agency ANI reported. Intel sources suggest that Amritpal is a male chauvinist and misogynist.

Amritpal visited Thailand frequently
Authorities are also investigating why the radical Sikh leader visited Thailand so frequently, including the angles like whether he was involved in any prostitution racket or had a girlfriend or a second wife there. Punjab Police have found out that Amritpal and his close aide Daljit Singh Kalsi had gone to Thailand 18 times in 13 years, a News18 report quoted sources as saying.
Meanwhile the police questioned his wife Kirandeep Kaur after reports surfaced that she had a role in securing foreign funds for the outfit. The police said that Kirandeep is an NRI and was residing in the United Kingdom. Following their marriage this year, Amritpal had brought her to India, saying he wanted his wife to live with him in Punjab.
Punjab Police are now looking into the network that provides funds to run Waris Punjab, an outfit founded by Deep Sidhu. Amritpal took it over after Sidhu was killed in a car crash. After the Amritsar incident last week, Punjab Police have launched a massive search operation to nab Amritpal but he has remained elusive so far.
Authorities had last week suspended internet and SMS services in the State following the police crackdown against the Khalistani elements led by Amritpal. Though many of his followers were nabbed, the radical Sikh preacher himself gave the cops a slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district.
The manner in which the State law enforcement agencies have handled the issue has, however, evoked a strong response from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
