Amrita student bags first prize at IDC 2021 Robocon
New Delhi, Aug 11: Sankars Das (Semester 7) of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won first prize at Robocon 2021, held amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The prestigious (International Design Contest 2021) Robocon, a competition where students compete in the field of robotics was held at held at TokyoTech University, Tokyo, Japan from Jul 26 to Aug 7, 2021.
When India celebrates the Gold Medal win at Olympics by Neeraj Chopra in javelin throw, Amrita can celebrate for winning three prizes in the International Design Contest (IDC 2021) Robocon held online at Tokyo Tech University.

Another student Sai Smaran, (Semester 5) of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham bagged second prize.

Eleven students from HuT Labs, ECE, Amritapuri Campus, got into the finals of the IDC2021 (International Design Contest 2021) Robocon, one of the esteemed robotic competitions, to be held at TokyoTech University, Tokyo, Japan.

Students from HuT Labs have won first prizes consecutively in the year 2018 (TokyoTech, Japan) and 2019 (MIT, USA) in IDC 2018 and IDC2019.
The competition is based on invitation only and is extended to only one top university of 15 countries including Japan, Singapore, China, South Korea, France, Brazil, Mexico, India etc. This year students from 8 countries took part in the competition.
