A day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah had lunch at a Dalit party worker's house in Rohtak, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged that the food was cooked elsewhere before served to BJP the leaders.

A Dalit party worker Tarawati Devi on Friday served 'simple' yet delicious vegetarian meal despite a short notice of two hours given to her, BJP leader Ram Bilas Sharma told reporters.

However, AAP alleged that the lunch served to Shah and other BJP leaders was cooked at Tilyar Lake by professional chefs and was checked by a team of doctors before being taken to the Dalit party worker's house. AAP convener Naveen Jaihind said Shah had disrespected Dalits by doing this, reports Hindustan Times.

The BJP, however, rubbished his claim.

As per the report, the party leaders were served roti, cauliflower and fenugreek vegetable, rice, curd and state's monsoon delicacy ghevar. The BJP claimed Chahar was informed only two hours before the lunchtime that Shah would be coming at her residence.

Similar allegations were raised in Karnataka when former CM BS Yeddyurappa had breakfast with Dalit family. In May, the party rubbished the allegation that its state chief BS Yeddyurappa refused to eat food cooked at a Dalit's home last week and instead ate idlis ordered from a hotel. The party claimed that food ran out while Yeddyurappa and his team were at the home of Madhu Kumar in Chitradurga district for breakfast, and so more was bought from outside.
