Amit Shah Vows To Bury Terror In J&K: 'No One Will Dare Revive It'

Amit Shah, during a rally, promised to eliminate terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir, criticised the NC-Congress alliance, and rejected the idea of restoring Article 370.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Monday that efforts are underway to revive terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

He assured that terrorism would be "buried to such a level" in the Union Territory that it could never resurface.

During a rally at Padder-Nagseni in Kishtwar, Shah criticised the National Conference-Congress alliance. He declared, "We will bury terrorism to such a level where it will never come out again. Attempts are on to revive terrorism as the National Conference and Congress manifesto talks about releasing terrorists. This is the Narendra Modi government and nobody has the power to do so."

Political Campaigns and Promises

Shah was campaigning for BJP candidate and former minister Sunil Sharma. He emphasised, "This election is between two powers, on one side National Conference and PDP and on the other BJP. The NC-Congress alliance is saying that if we form the government, we will restore Article 370. Tell me, should it be restored? Your reservation, given by BJP to Paharis and Gujjars and others, will be snatched."

The home minister assured voters that neither Abdullah's nor Rahul's party would form the government in Jammu & Kashmir. He said, "Don't worry, I am watching the situation in Kashmir and be assured that neither Abdullah's nor Rahul's party are going to form the government in J&K."

Recent Visits and Manifesto Release

This visit marked Shah's second trip to the Jammu region within two weeks. Earlier, he visited on September 6 and 7 for a two-day trip during which he released BJP's manifesto for the J&K assembly elections and addressed a workers' convention.

Monday was significant as it was the last day for campaigning in 24 assembly constituencies, including Padder-Nagseni. These constituencies are set to vote in the first phase of elections on September 18.

Shah's statements reflect his confidence in BJP's ability to maintain control over Jammu & Kashmir while preventing any resurgence of terrorism. His remarks also highlight his criticism of opposition parties' promises regarding Article 370.

The rally at Padder-Nagseni saw Shah accompanied by Union Minister of state Jitendra Singh. Their presence underscored the BJP's commitment to securing victory in these crucial assembly elections.

The home minister’s comments come amidst heightened political activity as parties vie for control over Jammu & Kashmir’s legislative assembly. The upcoming elections are seen as pivotal for determining the region’s future governance.

Shah’s focus on security issues and opposition criticism aims to consolidate support among voters concerned about stability and development in Jammu & Kashmir. The ongoing political campaigns have intensified debates around key issues like Article 370 and regional reservations, making this election cycle particularly contentious.

As election day approaches, all eyes remain on how these political dynamics will unfold in Jammu & Kashmir’s complex landscape.
