Amit Shah Slams Malliakarjun Kharge, Says Don't Mock 48 Cr Devotees Coming To Mahakumbh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised Congress for allegedly disrespecting Sanatan Dharma. He claimed the party was absent ahead of Delhi's assembly elections. Shah, addressing a rally in Kalkaji, urged Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge not to ridicule millions visiting Mahakumbh.
"Congress, under Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, has always insulted Sanatan Dharma," he stated.

Amit Shah's Criticism of Opposition
Shah questioned Congress's ability to benefit Delhi and criticised Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their governance. He asserted that development occurs only under BJP rule. His remarks followed Kharge's criticism of BJP leaders, including Shah, who participated in the Maha Kumbh holy dip in Prayagraj.
Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of contradicting the Constitution while making false promises. "Does taking a dip in the Ganga alleviate poverty?" Kharge asked. He highlighted issues like child hunger and criticised spending on religious rituals instead of addressing pressing problems.
BJP's Allegations Against AAP
Shah accused AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal of obstructing the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi. He promised that once BJP forms the government, Delhi residents would receive free healthcare up to Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, OPD services and diagnostic tests would be free.
The Home Minister also announced plans to increase pensions for senior citizens to Rs 2,500 and for widows to Rs 3,000. These measures aim to improve welfare support for vulnerable groups in the capital.
Atal Canteen Initiative
Shah introduced the Atal Canteen scheme targeting slum areas in Delhi. This initiative will offer meals at just five rupees, aiming to combat corruption and provide affordable food options for low-income residents.
He further mentioned life insurance worth Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance worth Rs 5 lakh for auto and taxi drivers as part of BJP's plans to support these workers financially.
Upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections 2025
Amit Shah, along with BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, held a roadshow in Kasturba Nagar Assembly constituency earlier today. The Delhi Assembly elections are slated for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8. A total of 699 candidates are vying for 70 assembly seats across the national capital.
