Amit Shah Says No Loss Of Lives During Cyclone Biparjoy In Gujarat
In a significant accomplishment, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Gujarat government on Saturday for effectively managing Cyclone Biparjoy, which struck the Kutch coast with winds reaching 140 kmph, without any reported fatalities.
During his visit to the headquarters of Kutch district in Bhuj, Shah assured the public that electricity would be fully restored in the affected areas by June 20.

Furthermore, he announced that a comprehensive assessment of damage to crops, horticulture, and boats would be conducted promptly, with the government soon unveiling a relief package to aid those affected by the cyclone.

Shah also highlighted the successful collaboration between the state and Union governments in responding to the cyclone.

He emphasised that their joint efforts not only prevented human casualties but also significantly minimized injuries, with only 47 reported cases, and the loss of livestock, with 234 cattle casualties.
Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall near Jakhau on Thursday evening, leaving a trail of destruction across the Kutch and Saurashtra regions. As Gujarat initiates its recovery process, authorities are committed to providing necessary support and assistance to affected individuals and communities.
