Amit Shahs Sambhajinagar Rally: Calls for Liberation from New Nizams, Targets Dynastic Politics

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a rally in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, where he called for liberation from new Nizams and criticized opposition parties for promoting dynastic politics. He specifically mentioned the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Congress leader Sonia Gandhis desire to make her son Rahul Gandhi the prime minister.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah ignited a political firestorm during a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, on Tuesday. In a veiled reference to the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Shah asserted that it was high time to liberate the city from the clutches of "new Nizams." His remarks come in the wake of AIMIM's victory in the 2019 general elections, where the party's candidate, Imtiyaz Jaleel, defeated the Shiv Sena's Chandrakant Khaire, who was supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Shah's Criticism of Opposition Parties

Shah's speech also targeted opposition parties for promoting dynastic politics. He singled out Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, accusing her of harboring ambitions to make her son, Rahul Gandhi, the prime minister of India. Shah further criticized Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), for allegedly prioritizing his daughter's political career over the welfare of the country.

Seeking More Lok Sabha Seats

Shah expressed his desire to secure more than 45 Lok Sabha seats for the BJP in Maharashtra in the upcoming elections. He highlighted the party's previous successes in the state, where the BJP and its ally, Shiv Sena, won over 41 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in both 2014 and 2019.

Condemnation of Uddhav Thackeray

Shah launched a scathing attack on former ally Uddhav Thackeray, criticizing him for joining hands with parties that opposed the surgical strike conducted by the Indian military. Thackeray's decision to form a government with the Congress and NCP in 2019 drew Shah's ire, and he accused Thackeray of betraying the trust of the people.

Challenging Sharad Pawar to a Debate

Shah challenged Sharad Pawar and his allies to a debate on their achievements during their 40 years in power, contrasting them with the accomplishments of the Narendra Modi government in the past ten years. He expressed confidence that any worker from the BJP youth wing would be more than capable of defeating Pawar in an open debate, showcasing the BJP's track record of success.

Comparison of Central Funds

Shah highlighted the significant increase in central funds allocated to Maharashtra under the Modi government. He claimed that while the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government provided Rs 1.91 lakh crore to the state from 2004 to 2014, the Modi government allocated a whopping Rs 7.15 lakh crore during its tenure.

Fadnavis Criticizes Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis joined the chorus of criticism against Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of attempting to rename Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar only on the last day of his government, after losing the majority. Fadnavis emphasized that the BJP-led government took the decision to rename the city in its very first cabinet meeting and received approval from Home Minister Amit Shah.
