Amit Shah ignores Mayawati's 'EMV tampering' allegations
Mayawati, after losing in Uttar Pradesh said that the EVMS had been tampered with.
New Delhi, March 11: BJP chief Amit Shah on Saturday refused to comment on the allegation made by BSP chief Mayawati that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were "managed" to favour his party's win.
"I can understand the mental condition of Mayawati. But I will not comment on her remarks," Shah said when asked about the allegations. Amit Shah on Saturday said, "People accepted politics of performance; this historic mandate will take the country to new direction."
Terming the Uttar Pradesh election results as "very surprising", Mayawati on Saturday had alleged that EVMs were "managed" to favour the Bharatiya Janata Party. She said that all Muslim votes had gone to BJP, which was not possible and demanded re-election in the state.
She also said that her party has asked the Election Commission to cancel the results in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
