BJP has named its new Telangana campaign 'Praja Gosa, BJP Bharosa'. Party's central leaders will hold at least 10 big rallies across the State while PM Modi will hold the closing rally after a month in Hyderabad.

The BJP top brass, including Home Minister Amit Shah and party's national president J.P. Nadda, held a meeting with party leaders in Hyderabad on Tuesday as the party revs up its campaign for Telangana Assembly polls expected later this year. During deliberations, some party leaders expressed apprehensions that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao may recommend early elections in the State.

BJP's Telangana president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, State in-charge Tarun Chug, national vice-president D.K. Aruna, national general secretary Sunil Bansal, Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharampuri, co-incharge Sudhakar Reddy, K. Laxman, G. Kishan Reddy, Vijay Santhi and others also attended the meeting.

Though there is no official word on the content of the deliberations in the meeting, agency sources said that it was linked to the upcoming polls. The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress, too, have intensified their campaign.

BJP has named its new Telangana campaign 'Praja Gosa, BJP Bharosa'. Apart from the rallies at the 119 Assembly seats, BJP's senior central leaders will hold at least 10 big rallies across Telangana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold the closing rally after a month in Hyderabad.

According to reports, during the campaign, BJP will talk about the failures of the BRS government as well as highlight the welfare schemes being run by the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre for the people of Telangana.

Apart from this, the BJP will also inform people about the other Central schemes and how the Modi government is working in the interests of the people of the country and the people of Telangana as well. Meanwhile, Kumar has been leading a 'padyatra' (foot march) targeting the Rao-led government in the State.

The meeting comes under the shadow of the CBI arresting Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor scam, in which BRS MP K. Kavitha too has been named. The CBI has arrested a Hyderabad-based chartered accountant in the case and the CBI chargesheet has mentioned about his links with Kavitha.

The last Assembly election in Telangana was held in December 2018, in which Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), rechristened as BRS now, had won the majority of seats and formed the government.
