Amit Shah Takes Swipe at AAP-Congress Alliance, Says Zero Plus Zero Remains Zero

Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the alliance between AAP and Congress in Delhi, stating that it wont impact BJPs victory as both parties have no Lok Sabha seats in the capital. Shah asserted PM Modis return with over 400 seats.

New Delhi: In a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for joining hands with the Congress in Delhi for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah dismissed the alliance as inconsequential, stating that "zero plus zero remains zero." Addressing a gathering in the national capital, Shah asserted that the AAP and the Congress have no Lok Sabha seat from Delhi, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won all seven seats in both the 2019 and 2014 elections.

Amit Shahs Zero Plus Zero Remark: AAP-Congress Alliance Mocked

Shah's Barbs at AAP-Congress Alliance

Shah's remarks came during the launch of piped natural gas supply lines in 41 villages and developmental works in 178 villages of Delhi under the Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan. Accompanied by Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Puri, Shah took aim at the AAP-Congress alliance, referring to their tie-ups in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana.

"Whether you have an alliance with the Congress or even merge with it, nothing is going to happen because zero plus zero remains zero," Shah said, dismissing the potential impact of the alliance on the upcoming elections. He further criticized Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP convener, for allegedly aligning with the Congress despite his past criticism of the party's corruption.

Shah's Criticism of Arvind Kejriwal

Shah launched a series of attacks on Kejriwal, accusing him of failing to deliver on his promises and engaging in various scams. "There are two types of people in politics - one those who deliver on what they say and the others who do the opposite. Both types of people are present in Delhi. One is Narendra Modi and the other is Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who has not done anything that he said," Shah asserted.

He highlighted the arrest of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also held the education portfolio, in connection with the excise policy case. Shah questioned Kejriwal's integrity and accused him of hypocrisy for criticizing the Congress on corruption while now allying with the same party.

Shah Praises PM Modi's Achievements

In contrast to the AAP-Congress alliance, Shah lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and achievements over the past ten years. He highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the Modi government, such as providing LPG cylinders to millions of households, piped gas connections, tap water, toilets, and affordable housing.

Shah emphasized that Modi has fulfilled the dreams of the people and earned their trust. He credited the Prime Minister for creating an atmosphere of optimism and enthusiasm in the country by fulfilling his promises, which has instilled confidence in the nation's progress towards becoming fully developed and self-reliant by 2047.

AAP Hits Back at Shah's Allegations

Responding to Shah's allegations, the AAP hit back, framing the upcoming elections as a battle between righteousness and unrighteousness. The party asserted that while the AAP focuses on people-centric issues, the BJP creates obstacles and hinders their efforts to improve the lives of Delhi's citizens.

The AAP highlighted its electoral successes in the Delhi Assembly elections and the recent Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, where voters rejected the BJP's 15-year rule. They criticized the BJP for bringing in new faces before elections to avoid accountability to the people.

The AAP also questioned the absence of BJP MPs when the rights of Delhi citizens were curtailed through the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) Act. They pointed out that despite Delhi being one of the highest tax-paying regions in the country, the BJP does not allocate any funds from Central taxes to the city.

As the political landscape heats up ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the war of words between the BJP and the AAP intensifies. While Shah dismisses the AAP-Congress alliance as inconsequential, the AAP defends its record and accuses the BJP of hindering its efforts to serve the people of Delhi. The upcoming elections will determine the fate of these alliances and their impact on the political landscape of the national capital.
