Amid Standoff With Pakistan, PM Modi Visits Adampur Air Base
Amid tensions between India and Pakistan in the border, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited the Adampur Air Base. He was briefed by Air Force personnel and he also interacted with the brave Jawans.
During his visit, chants of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Matram echoed at the Adampur Air base in Punjab. According to the videos shared by ANI, a visible wave of happiness can be seen amongst the army men as they celebrate their success.

PM Modi On His Visit
In a post on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was a special experience. He wrote: "Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation."
The Adampur base was one of the Air Bases active during Op Sindoor.
The Prime Minister landed at the airport around 6.15 am and spent time with the jawans for nearly 50 minutes, Hindustan Times reported, citing a senior official.
"The sole purpose was to boost the morale of the armed forces who are giving a befitting reply to the drone and missiles shot by Pakistan. The PM was briefed by the commanders of the IAF about the ongoing operation and its logistics, and preparations," the official added.
However, it was a "highly confidential" visit and the information of his arrival was not informed to the district's civil and police administration.
Amarinder Singh Hails
Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, in a post, said: "I salute the courage and commitment of our armed forces - India stands strong because of you."
In retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and carried out attack on nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. As per the Prime Minister, over 100 terrorists have been killed by the Indian armed forces.
Responding to India's attack, Pakistan tried to attack India through drones and missiles but the Indian armed forces neutralised all the threats by kinetic and non-kinetic means. An US-brokered ceasefire in place.
