Bihar saw another collapse of bridges amid heavy rainfall.

These bridges, built in 1998 and 2004 with funds from then MP Prabhunath Singh, had not been repaired since their construction. Villagers believe that heavy rainfall and a surge in the Gandaki River contributed to the weakening and eventual collapse of the structures.

This incident is part of a disturbing trend, being the seventh bridge collapse in Bihar in the past 15 days. A similar incident occurred 11 days prior in Siwan's Darounda area, and other collapses have been reported in Madhubani, Araria, East Champaran, and Kishanganj.

In response to these incidents, the Bihar government has established a high-level committee to investigate the causes and address the state's deteriorating infrastructure.
