In a rare display of courage, a Kashmiri Pandit woman raised pro-India slogans on Independence Day at Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
In a video posted by Saranjana Times, Sunita Arora was seen raising 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', 'Vande Mataram' amid shut down in Srinagar.

According to Rising Kashmir reports, Arora was stopped from hoisting the tricolor because of the prevalent law and order scenario.
"She was later let go."
However, BJP dismissed her association with the party.
"Police had brought her to TRC where we were hoisting the tricolor thinking that she was from BJP but then she herself said she doesn't belong to any party,'' Rising Kashmir quoted BJP leader Altaf Thakur as saying.
Earlier, one the eve of Independence Day police had detained around 250 activists of BJP's youth wing, who were on a 'Tiranga yatra' to hoist the national flag at the Lal Chowk. They had been taken to different police stations of the summer state capital.
