The attack was probably to avenge the killing of its terrorists and also spread panic in the Valley, investigations have shown. On Monday, the special investigation team of the J&K police in its chargesheet managed to establish the role played by the terror group.

It was Abul Ismail, the Pakistan origin terrorist who had picked the spot for the attack. He had chosen a team of four to carry out the strike. The rest of the persons involved in the attack provided logistic support.
