All IndiGo Flights From Delhi Airport Cancelled For Today

India's busiest airports are facing severe disruption as IndiGo flight cancellations stretch into a third straight day, with all departures from Delhi halted till 23:59 on Friday. The carrier is scrubbing hundreds of services nationwide, and passengers across major hubs are reporting long queues and confusion.

The airline has already cancelled more than 400 flights on Friday, after over 550 on Thursday, and has warned that cuts will continue till at least December 8. IndiGo expects its schedule to stabilise only by February 10, 2026, after it recalibrates crew rosters and operations.

IndiGo flight cancellations: Delhi shutdown hits daily schedule

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is the worst hit, with IndiGo cancelling every outbound service scheduled for Friday till midnight. The airline usually runs about 235 departures a day from Delhi, so the blanket halt has amplified delays, crowding and last-minute rebooking struggles for travellers.

Kolkata has also seen heavy disruption between December 3 and 5. During this period, IndiGo had 468 scheduled arrivals and departures there, but still reported 320 delays and 92 cancellations by 9 am on Friday. Similar chaos has been reported at Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

IndiGo flight cancellations: Reasons cited by the airline

An IndiGo spokesperson said operations have been "significantly disrupted across the network for the past two days". The airline linked the situation to technology glitches, bad weather in parts of the network, congestion at major airports and new Flight Duty Time Limitations rules, which started in November.

IndiGo has told regulators that the current meltdown is rooted in planning errors during the rollout of Phase 2 of these FDTL norms. The carrier has sought temporary relaxation in duty rules to rebuild its schedule and has indicated that reductions have been in place since December 4.

Political voices have started weighing in as the disruption widens. The issue is expected to feature in parliamentary debates as legislators press for accountability from both the airline and aviation authorities.

IndiGo flight cancellations: Advisories and guidance for passengers

Delhi airport has issued an advisory warning of continuing disruption to domestic services. In its statement, Delhi Airport said, "Please be advised that operational challenges affecting certain domestic services are resulting in flight delays and cancellations. We strongly recommend passengers verify their flight status directly with their airline prior to departure for the airport. Our dedicated on-ground teams are working diligently with all partners to mitigate the disruption and ensure a comfortable passenger experience".
