Akshaya Tritiya marks the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram, who is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Devotees celebrate this day by waking up early, taking a cleansing bath, and dressing in yellow clothes. They offer prayers to Lord Vishnu's idol, often reciting sacred texts like the Vishnu Sahasranama and the Vishnu Chalisa.

The time for the Akshaya Tritiya puja is from 5:33 AM to 12:18 PM on May 10. The Tritiya Tithi starts at 4:17 AM on May 10 and ends at 2:50 PM the following day. The best time to buy gold begins at 4:17 AM on May 10 and lasts until the end of the Tritiya Tithi on May 11, according to the Business Standard.

Bank Holiday On May 10 For Akshaya Tritiya

Banks will be closed on May 10 for the Akshaya Tritiya festival and on and it's a second Saturday on May 11. Additionally, May 12 being a Sunday, banks will remain closed due to the weekly bank holiday across India. This arrangement, as reported by the Hindustan Times, will result in a three-day holiday period for banks, with May 10-12 constituting a long weekend.

Online banking services will continue to function smoothly during bank holidays. One can utilise these services to conduct transactions, check balances, and carry out various tasks. Furthermore, digital services such as mobile banking, UPI, and Internet banking remain unaffected by bank holidays.

The bank holiday calendar is set by both the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and individual state governments. Regional bank holidays may vary based on the customs and traditions of different states. It's important to note that not all banks will be closed nationwide, especially in major metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. According to RBI information, banks in only one city, Bengaluru, will be closed.
