Akhilesh to lay foundation stone of Kalam memorial next week

Lucknow, Oct 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday viewed the design of the memorial for late former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, prepared by students of the of the technical university and whose foundation stone he will lay next week.

The memorial will come up in the new campus of the Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, which had been renamed in Dr. Kalam's honour following his death. Akhilesh Yadav had then also announced a grand memorial will be built in commemoration.

Following the decision, a competition was held at the varsity's architecture department to find the right design.
