No VIP treatment: Air India shows door to Kerala Governor for arriving late!
Kochi, Dec 23: In an embarrassing moment, Kerala Governor and former Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam was refused to board an Air India flight, as he had reached airport, after the boarding time was over.
According to media reports, the Air India 408 flight was scheduled to take off at 9.15 pm but was delayed till 10.45 pm, on Tuesday, Dec 21. The flight was from Kochi-Thiruvananthapuram.
Sathasivam allegedly reached Nedumbassery International Airport before 10 minutes of flight's departure. Then, the Air India Pilot made it clear that he cannot be accommodated at the last moment.
Left with no other option, Sathasivam had to stay at Ernakulam guest house in Kochi. Then, his ticket was booked for Wednesday morning flight to Thiruvanathapuram.
Following the incident, governor's office registered a complaint with Air India and the aviation ministry against the airlines staff.
Air India officials claimed that flight had taken off even before governor's arrival at the airport.
