Air India pilot allegedly assaults flight engineer at Chennai airport

New Delhi, Jan 17: An Air India pilot had allegedly assaulted a flight engineer inside cockpit at the Chennai airport.

The Chennai-Paris flight AI 143 was delayed by over two hours due to the fight between the two.

As per TV reports, the fight started after an argument with passengers over a delay on Saturday.

As per reports, the pilot pushed the engineer as the latter went inside to get his diary signed.

The incident led to the delay of the flight AI 143 from Delhi-Chennai-Paris by nearly two hours due to which the passengers who are still at Chennai airport are likely to miss their Paris flight.

The injured engineer was taken toa nearby hospital for first aid.

As per reports, an FIR has been filed in the case and the pilot has been taken for medical examination.

Air India officials have been informed about the incident who said that they are investigating the case.
