AIADMK Symbol Case: Sukesh Chandrasekhar Granted Bail by Delhi Court

Alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar was granted bail by a Delhi court on Tuesday in a money laundering case linked to the AIADMK "two leaves" election symbol controversy. The order was passed by the Rouse Avenue Court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The case is part of a larger investigation into alleged attempts to influence the allocation of the symbol during a power struggle within the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

As per the prosecution, Chandrasekhar allegedly acted on behalf of AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran and tried to bribe an official from the Election Commission of India to secure the party symbol for the faction led by V. K. Sasikala. Investigators claimed that ₹1.3 crore in cash was recovered, which was allegedly meant to influence the decision. Authorities view the case as part of a wider network of financial fraud and illegal dealings linked to Chandrasekhar.

However, the bail in this case does not mean immediate release. Chandrasekhar will remain in jail as he continues to face multiple cases across the country. Reports indicate that he is involved in 31 criminal cases, out of which he has already secured bail in 26, while five cases are still pending.

Chandrasekhar, who hails from Bengaluru, has been under the scanner for years for his alleged role in several fraud cases. He first came into the spotlight at a young age and has since been associated with a series of high-profile controversies. He is married to actor Leena Maria Paul, who has also been linked to some of the cases.
