Speaking to a TV news channel, Salman said, "I like Rahul Gandhi. If he calls me I will definitely go to campaign for him." The 'Jai Ho' actor also claimed, "Modi does not need me in GUjarat. He is very popular."

Salman earlier had said that he is ready to campaign for Narendra Modi in upcoming Lok Sabha election if he is asked to and if Narendra Modi does good work for the people of the country.

Salman recently met Modi at a kite-flying ceremony in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Salman also said thathis recent experience of flying kites with the Gujarat chief minister was a fun-filled one.

Calling the Gujarat CM "cultured", the actor also said that he was very impressed with Modi and that he had treated his (Salman's) sister and women members of his unit with great respect.
