An Afghan-origin man was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in South Delhi's Greater Kailash area on Thursday night. The CCTV footage of the shooting has since gone viral.

The victim, identified as Nadir Shah, an Afghan national residing in CR Park, was attacked by two men on a motorcycle. Rohit Godara, an associate of Goldy Brar from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder in a social media post. However, the authenticity of his claims is yet to be confirmed.

"The attackers arrived on a two-wheeler, opened fire on him, and fled the scene. His friends immediately rushed him to the hospital, but he was declared brought dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan told PTI.

Shah, who ran a gym in partnership in the area, was shot multiple times. The police are investigating all possible motives, including the likelihood of a gang rivalry.

According to Chauhan, the police received information about the shooting in GK 1, where one person was reported injured and taken to Max Hospital. Upon reaching the spot, officers found bullet projectiles and empty cartridges.

The CCTV footage reveals a man opening fire at two individuals. While one of them managed to escape, the attacker continued firing at Shah. The assailants then fled on a motorcycle parked a few meters away.

The investigation is ongoing, and the possibility of a gang war is not being ruled out.
