'Adipurush' Mocks Ramayana: PIL In Delhi HC Brings Fresh Trouble To Prabhas-Starrer
Prabhas' much-hyped movie 'Adipurush' has run into fresh trouble as a Hindu group has sought the removal of some scenes in the flick.
The Hindu Sena national president has filed a PIL where he raised objections to scenes related to "Ravana, Lord Ram, Mata Sita and Hanuman', according to a Livelaw.

The depiction of these deities in 'Adipurush' is inaccurate and inappropriate and contrary to depictions of religious characters in the Hindu epic Ramayana. It has mocked the Ramayana and the Indian culture, the petitioner accused.
"The Hindus have a particular view of the image of Lord Ram, Sita and Hanuman and any change/tampering of their divine image by the film producers, directors and actors would be a violation of their fundamental rights," the plea stated.
The petitioner accused the makers of showcasing the religious characters in a bad light, thus hurting the sentiments of Hindus while insulting the Hindu civilisation.
"The hairstyle, beard and dressing are well defined as per image created in epics. Any variation by film producers, directors and actors would certainly hurt the sentiments of worshipers, devotees and religious believers," the plea said and claimed that such movies may not be permitted for public exhibition until corrective measures are taken by makers.
"Distorted public exhibition of Hindu religious figures by film #Adipurush is a clear cut violation of freedom of conscience and practice in as much as freedom to manage religious affairs as guaranteed under Article 26 which is also violated," the PIL states.
The plea also states that the filmmakers cannot be permitted by the Centre and Central Board Of Film Certification to publicly exhibit any feature film "which may tend to disturb public order and secular fabric of the society." "Because the feature film Adipurush has created unrest amongst the Hindus all over the country. A certain state government has also expressed its concern related to a likely problem which may be created / arise by the release of this film," it said.
Meanwhile, the mega-budget flick directed by Om Raut has met with mixed reviews. However, the movie is off to a flying start at the box office.
