Rumours Of Ramya Aka Divya Spandana's Death Is Fake; She Will Return To Bengaluru Tomorrow

South Indians, who are yet to recover from the untimely demise of actor Vijay Raghavendra's wife, were in a state of a shock on Tuesday as social media was abuzz with speculations on actress-turned-politician Ramya aka Divya Spandana's death.

Many people on X, formerly Twitter, started spreading unconfirmed or fake death news, which panicked many of her well-wishers and fans. A few Tamil media claimed that she "passed away".

However, the timely clarification by journalist Chitra Subramaniam gave a sigh of relief to everyone. She said, "I just spoke to @divyaspandana. She's well. En route to Prague tomorrow and the to Bangalore," she said on X.

In another post, she shared a photo of her with Ramya in Geneva. "Wonderful meeting the very talented and genteel lady ⁦ @divyaspandana ⁩ for dinner in Geneva. We talked about many things including our love for Bangalore," she said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, a source close to Ramya has also clarified to Oneindia that the news is fake. "Some Tamil PR mistakenly spread the news that Divya is dead. The confusion arose because he mistook Spandana, the wife of Vijay Raghavendra, for Divya Spandana.," the source added.

Further, journalist Dhanya Rajendran also posted a few social media posts slamming the fake reports.

The actress, who is known as Golden Girl of Sandalwood, has been having a great time on her vacation. Recently, she shared images of her sunny seaside escapade, showcasing her fabulous beachwear.

Donning stylish black sunglasses, she ventured into the sea aboard a vibrant red boat. In her Instagram update, Divya captioned the moment as "Summer Time," keeping her companion's identity a mystery.

The 40-year-old actress made her acting debut with 'Abhi'. Since then, she worked in many hit movies in Kannada and other languages. In 2012, she won the Mandya Lok Sabha by-poll and also served as the Head of Congress Social Media.
