Balakrishna was in Nandyal to campaign for the upcoming bypolls. As he arrived on Wednesday night, dozens of fans excitedly rushed towards him. As the crowd pushed around him, an infuriated Balakrishna slapped a fan who was trying to click a selfie with the star politician. This is, however, not the first time that the actor has been criticized for his unruly and violent behaviour towards his fans and supporters.
Balakrishna is campaigning for the high-stakes Nandyal bypoll where his party, TDP is in a neck-to-neck battle with Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress. Balakrishna slapped the fan first after which his assistant assaulted the same man again. Despite the unruly behaviour, the crowd continued to hail the actor turned politician. Balakrishna was then seen angrily walking away from the crowd.
Earlier this year, a video of the actor slapping his assistant on the sets of his move went viral.
