Action only after test reports on Maggi noodles: Paswan
Ahmedabad, June 4: Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Thursday said safety checks on Maggi instant noodles had been ordered, adding that action in the matter would be taken only after test reports were in.
The union government had taken suo motu cognisance of the matter and ordered the checks, he said while addressing a press conference here.

No one could be held guilty just on the basis of accusations, he added.
"There are reports that Maggi noodles contain lead beyond permissible limits. It is being checked. Let the reports come in and the government will take action accordingly," Paswan said.
The minister said that the matter ought to be probed thoroughly since it was related to the health of children and was thus serious.
