Accident Caught On Cam: Tanker Rams Into Car Killing 3 In Sikkim

In a shocking incident, a milk tanker hit three cars which were parked near a fair in Ranipool in Sikkim. The incident killed at least three people and left over 30 people injured.

A video capturing the accident has emerged online. In the footage, the speeding tanker collides with cars while individuals scramble to evade being struck by the vehicle.

Going by the reports, the early investigation has revealed that the brakes of the tanker failed leading to the accident. At the time of the incident at Mela ground, where 'tambola' game was being held there.

However, the injured were rushed to the Central Referral Hospital by the onlookers. The death toll might increase as the condition of five people is critical, say reports. Further investigation is on.

Meanwhile, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Sing Tamang has expressed condolence over the incident and the government would extend support to the victims during the difficult time.

"We are committed to providing every possible support during this difficult time. My thoughts are with the injured and their families, and I sincerely pray for their swift recovery. I also extend my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy, and I pray for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace", he wrote in a post on Facebook.

This is the second major accident to hit the headlines from Sikkim in the last 30 days. At least three people were killed and one suffered injuries in a road accident on January 13 where a vehicle fell into a gorge in Namchi district in Sikkim.
