Abu Dujana the commander of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in the Kashmir Valley managed to give security forces the slip yet again. On Wednesday, he came close to being caught, but managed to slip away along with his two associates.
Ironically this is not the first time that he is slipping away. This is in fact is the fifth time that he had managed to dodge the security forces. This has now raised questions, whether he has a knack of escaping?
It was in the month of May 2016 that he was first seen in public. A funeral being accorded to a terrorist in Pulwama was attended by Dujana where he had called on locals to take the fight to the Indian Army.
Lift up your guns and fight against the Indian Army, he said before a crowd. Dujana the chief of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in Kashmir is currently a major headache for the Indian security establishment.
From masterminding the Udhampur attack, the 27 year old Dujana has become a menace in South Kashmir.
Who is Abu Dujana?
A dossier on this 27 year old operative in the possession of OneIndia states that
he joined the Lashkar-e-Tayiba when he was 17. His rise in the outfit has been meteoric.
A resident of Gilgit-Baltistan, he operates out of the Pulwama region in South Kashmir.
His planing and style of execution had impressed his bosses who appointed him as a deputy to Abu Qasim. Following the death of Abu Qasim, Dujana became the obvious choice to lead the outfit in Kashmir. Dujana currently is on the run and in the interim the Lashkar appointed Abu Ismail, the mastermind of the Amarnath yatra attack in his place.
Dujana's main target is the Indian army. All his attacks are directed against the armed forces in Kashmir as he believes that it is the armed forces which is coming in the way of their so-called Kashmir struggle.
His name featured in several attacks which also included the ones at Pampore and Udhampur. In fact he was the one who had planned the Udhampur attack in which two BSF personnel were martyred.
When Mohammad Naved one of the terrorists was caught alive, he confirmed to the police that the attack was masterminded by Dujana and Qasim. The investigations being conducted into the recent Pampore attack had also found that it was Dujana who had masterminded the attack. There is currently a reward of Rs 8 lakh on his head and a massive manhunt has been launched to track him down.
The question is when will this slippery commander of the Lashkar be caught or killed.
