Abhijeet Dipke Leads Cockroach Janta Party Protest at Jantar Mantar, Demands Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the satirical online "Cockroach Janta Party", joined students and youth activists at Jantar Mantar on Friday as protesters gathered to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination-related irregularities.

The demonstration, which drew participants from different parts of the country, saw protesters raising slogans calling for accountability and reforms in the examination system. Placards demanding justice for students and greater transparency in public examinations were visible across the protest site.

Among the slogans raised were "Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa Do" and "Students Want Justice". Some demonstrators also chanted "Godi Media Chor Hai", accusing sections of the media of failing to adequately highlight their concerns and demands.

Dipke had earlier announced that he would return from Boston on June 6 to participate in the protest. Ahead of the demonstration, he urged supporters to maintain peace and discipline. In a post on X, he said he was looking forward to meeting protesters at Jantar Mantar and added that the movement should be led with "love and peace".

The protest comes amid continuing demands from activists and students for accountability over alleged irregularities in examinations. Organisers have maintained that their primary objective is to seek reforms in the education and examination system while ensuring that student concerns are heard.

Security was heightened across the national capital ahead of the demonstration. Additional police personnel were deployed at key locations, while drone surveillance was carried out around Jantar Mantar as a precautionary measure. Authorities also strengthened security at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and other sensitive points in Delhi.

Education reform advocate and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had earlier expressed support for the agitation, stating that he would join the protest if Pradhan did not step down by June 5.

The protest remained peaceful, with participants reiterating their demand for accountability and vowing to continue their campaign until their concerns are addressed.
