Aashiqui 2 singer arrested on rape charges
Tiwari rose to fame with his blockbuster hit song 'Sun Raha Hai Na' from 'Aashiqui 2. The singer's brother Ankur Tiwari has also been arrested for threatening the victim.
Reportedly, the victim is an event management professional.The singer refused to marry her despite promising to marry.
A Mid-Day report says that the victim is 28-years oldand was staying with her sister in Mumbai. The two brothers used to visit her house frequently.
The police have said that the incident happened late last night. The singer had come to meet the girl at her sister's home when she was alone, and allegedly raped her.
