Excise policy case: AAP Punjab welcomes Delhi court discharge of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia

The Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party welcomed a Delhi court order discharging Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the ruling supports AAP’s stance and alleged central agencies are being misused. Party workers marked the decision with celebrations at the AAP office.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the decision backed AAP’s claims of political targeting. AAP workers celebrated at the party office in Punjab. Leaders exchanged sweets and danced to dhol beats.

The Delhi court discharged former Delhi chief minister Kejriwal and former deputy chief minister Sisodia. The court also discharged 21 other accused in the matter. It criticised the CBI, saying the case could not stand scrutiny. The court said the case was discredited in its entirety, as reported.

Excise policy case verdict and AAP reaction in Punjab

In a post on X, Mann wrote: "Truth always triumphs. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal ji and Delhis former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia ji have been acquitted by the Honble Delhi Court in the liquor scam case. This decision of the Honble Court has brought the truth to light. With time, the truth in all other cases will also be revealed.\"

Later, Mann shared a video message after the discharge order. Mann said the ruling supported AAP’s view on central agencies. Mann alleged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and others acted under Union government control. Mann said the agencies were used to target political opponents and stop AAP’s rise.

CBI excise policy case and claims of political misuse

Mann said, \"It is a historic day in the politics of the country because the court has acquitted Arvind Kejriwal and 23 others who were wrongly booked by the CBI. The case against Arvind Kejriwal and others was a desperate attempt by the Union government to stop the Aam Aadmi Party, which was spreading its wings across the country through its agenda of good work,\"

Mann also said, \"The order of the court is a testament to the fact that the dark night, however long it is, does end and the triumph of light is there,\" Mann linked the court order to public prayers. Mann added that the ruling raised questions on the CBI’s functioning. Mann alleged the agency acted like a puppet.

Mann said the BJP-led Union government jailed AAP’s main decision-making team. Mann linked this to Delhi elections and political interests. Mann also claimed the verdict proved Kejriwal was honest. Mann said Kejriwal spoke the truth and held public support. Mann also attacked traditional parties for alleged self-interest.

Delhi excise policy case and attack on BJP leadership

Mann targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mann said seeking power was acceptable, but should come through work. Mann accused the BJP of ignoring education and health needs. Mann also mentioned roads, power, and employment. Mann alleged the BJP pursued hate and divisiveness instead.

Mann said, \"Instead of improving education, roads, power, health sector, employment and other sectors in the country, the BJP is pursuing its agenda of hate and divisiveness. These democratically elected dictators use dissent and lure among their political rivals to freeze election symbols and then manipulate the polls. Mann said.\"

Punjab AAP leaders on excise policy case discharge

Punjab AAP president and cabinet minister Aman Arora welcomed the verdict on X. Arora accused the BJP-led Centre of using agencies to defame AAP. Arora wrote: \"As the saying goes Justice can be delayed but not denied,\" Arora also wrote, \"People of the Country will give a befitting reply to the conspirators in days to come,\"

Speaking to reporters later, Arora called the relief a win for truth. Arora said it was not only a victory for Kejriwal and AAP. Arora alleged: \"It happened for the first time that a false case was registered against the sitting chief minister just to politically finish him. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah should seek an apology for the bundle of lies,\"

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema also reacted to the Delhi court decision. Cheema called it a historic victory for AAP. Cheema said the ruling showed the BJP’s alleged conspiracy was baseless. Cheema said agencies were used to damage reputations. Cheema said the decision supported the Constitution and democracy.
