AAP pits academic against 2-G accused A Raja

The 2G scam-tainted former telecom minister declared assets to the tune of Rs 3.61 crore on Wednesday. Raja, in his affidavit presented while filing nominations, declared movable assets of Rs 1.45 crore in his name, Rs 93.93 lakh held by his wife M A Parameswari, Rs 18.15 lakh held by his minor daughter and Rs 41.03 lakh property in the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).

The party had said that it will field candidates against leaders involved in corruption, which also included Raja's name. Raja, known to be a Dalit face of DMK, is seeking re-election from Nilgiris. Although, the party has announced candidates for more seats in Gujarat, it is yet to declare any candidate from Vadodara, second seat from where Narendra Modi is expected to contest the Lok Sabha polls.
Arvind Kejriwal, convenor of the AAP, is contesting against Modi from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
