8-Year-Old Girl Gangraped, Killed By 3 School Seniors In Andhra's Nandyal, Body Dumped In Canal

An 8-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and murdered by three school seniors, all under 14, in Muchumarri village, Pagidyala mandal of Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh. The incident occurred on Sunday but came to light on Wednesday after the police appreh the accused.

Investigation and Arrest

The victim had gone to play in a local park with friends on Sunday from her home in Old Muchumurri. When she did not return by evening, her worried parents filed a police complaint. The police registered the case and immediately began searching for the girl. They raided several locations and used a dog squad to aid in the search. The dogs led them to the crime scene and stopped at the houses of the accused, helping identify potential suspects.

After initial questioning, the police took the boys into custody. During interrogation, they confessed to committing the crime and explained how they killed the girl and disposed of her body in a canal to hide their actions.

Details of the Crime

A TOI report revealed that the boys lured the girl to play with them near a secluded spot by the Muchumarri irrigation project. They then covered her mouth and took turns raping her. Fearing she would inform her parents, they killed her and disposed of her body in an irrigation canal.

Search Operation for Victim's Body

The police have not yet recovered the victim's body due to deep water levels in the canal, possibly exacerbated by monsoon rains. Reports indicate that efforts are ongoing to retrieve her remains.
