The Central Government employees deserve a pay hike beyond the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, finance ministry sources have said.
The pay hike is absolutely necessary to keep up with the inflation. The source also indicated that the government is all set to accept the recommendations of a rise in pay cap suggested by the National Anomaly Committee.

CG employees deserve a pay hike
Inflation is a major issue and CG employees are finding hard to make two ends meet. There has been a great deal of frustration and anger among the employees for whom the wait for good news has been never-ending. Officials say that the government will accept the NAC recommendations for a rise in pay cap. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assured that the pay cap would rise and he will not go back on his word, the source also said.

Finance Ministry will be flexible
The source also indicated that the Finance Ministry will be flexible on the issue of pay cap. There are a number of factors that have been considered before a decision was arrived at. The NAC has been told to bear in mind the condition of the CG employees and also burden on the exchequer. However sources say that the government wants a long standing solution to the problem.

CG employees can expect variable pay
While for now the fitment factor would be raised by 3 times, the Finance Ministry has repeatedly said that the pay would be variable keeping in mind the markets and the inflation. For now the recommendations that would be made will be in accordance with the economic situation. While the economy is down, the government is confident that things will start looking up from February onwards.

Confirmed, 7th Pay Commission is the last
It is certain that the 7th Pay Commission would be the last. With the government speaking of variable pay this means that there would not be anymore pay commissions in the future. A committee would be set up to study the salaries of the CG employees in future. This would also mean that the pay would be a variable one.
