72-Year-Old Man Loses Rs 9 Lakh While Buying 'Magic Mirror' To See People Naked
Three men have been arrested in West Bengal for allegedly duping a 72-year-old man of Rs 9 lakh in a "magic mirror" scam. The victim, Avinash Kumar Shukla, was from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The accused men, Partha Singhray, Molaya Sarkar, and Sudipta Sinha Roy, posed as employees of a Singaporean company that specializes in antiquities. They told Shukla that they had a "magic mirror" that could see people naked and predict the future. They claimed that the mirror was worth Rs 2 crore, but they were willing to sell it to Shukla for Rs 9 lakh.

Shukla was initially skeptical, but the accused men convinced him by providing him with fake testimonials from people who had supposedly bought the mirror from them. They also told him that NASA scientists in the United States used the mirror.
Eventually, Shukla agreed to buy the mirror. He traveled to Bhubaneswar, where the accused men were supposed to give him the mirror. However, when he met them, he realized that he had been duped. The mirror was fake, and the accused men were actually fraudsters.
Shukla filed a complaint with the police, and the accused men were arrested. The police also seized a car, Rs 28,000 in cash, five mobile phones, and some fake documents from the accused men.
The police are investigating the case and are trying to find out how many other people the accused men have duped.
