7 killed in West Bengal car-bus collision
Kolkata, Nov 2: At least seven people were killed when a car collided with a bus in West Bengal's North 24-Parganas district on Monday, police said.
The accident took place on Kalyani Expressway in Barackpore subdivision of the distict.
"Five people died on the spot and two others succumbed to injuries at a hospital. The deceased were all occupants of the car," said Commissioner of Police (Barrackpore) Niraj Kumar Singh.
"We are looking for the driver of the bus, who is absconding," said Singh, adding the deceased were residents of Ranaghat in Nadia district.
At least 20 passengers of the bus heading towards Digha in east Midnapore district sustained minor injuries.
