64 persons to donate organs, body on the eve of Republic Day

Coimbatore, Jan 22: As part of the 64th

, a city-based NGO, Aatma Foundation is organising a function here on January 24, in which 64 persons will pledge to donate their organs and body voluntarily.

District Collector Archana Patnaik will address and motivate the donors to create awareness on organ donation, since large number of poor, needy patients in India were waiting to get a new lease of life, Murugar Selvi, Chairman, Aatma Foundation, told reporters here today.

The donors are aged between 21 to 60, including a few women, she said.
