Six-Year Old Pays Last Respect To His Father Colonel Manpreet Singh
Six-year-old son of Colonel Manpreet Singh who lost his life during a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district was seen offering a salute to his father during the last rites in Punjab's Mohali district. He was accompanied by his two-year-old sister who also offered a salute to her father.
Family of Colonel Manpreet Singh including his wife, sister, and mother were seen shedding tears during the funeral.

41-year-old, Colonel Manpreet Singh, Commanding Officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles (19 RR) and a recipient of the prestigious Sena Medal (Gallantry), breathed his last during the terrorist attack on Wednesday night, after the army and police had launched a joint operation after getting a tip-of-toe information about the terrorists.
Three personnel, including the Colonel, a Major, and a Deputy Superintendent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, died in the gunfight in the Kokorenag area in the valley on Wednesday.

The body of Major Ashish Dhonchak, who led the operation with Colonel Singh was also brought to his native village in Panipat to perform his last rites. Thousands of people joined his grieving family and officers for his final journey.

The body was taken to his native Binjhol village in an Army vehicle from Panipat town this morning. His last rites were conducted after a wreath-laying ceremony and a gun salute.
The funeral procession took nearly three hours as the mourners covered a distance of about eight km from the major's home in the town to reach his Binjhol village.
Apart from Colonel Manpreet Singh, and Major Ashish Dhonchak, the funeral of 33-year-old Deputy Superintendent with Jammu and Kashmir Police, Himayun Muzamil Bhat took place in Budgam on Wednesday. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Police Chief Dilbag Singh paid tribute to the police officer.
