Confidential govt documents leaked: RIL man among 5 arrested
New Delhi, Feb 19: Five persons have been arrested by the Delhi crime branch on charges of leaking sensitive government documents. One staffer of the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has been detained in connection with the probe into the leak of Petroleum Ministry documents.
RIL confirmed that its staffer had been detained and it had launched an internal probe into the matter. The crime branch has taken into its custody two officials of the petroleum ministry and is also questioning a journalist in connection with the case.

Trying to influence policy decisions
The crime branch has accused the five persons of trying to get secret documents and pass them on to business houses.
They have also been accused of trying to use these documents to influence policy decisions of the government.
The crime branch says that while two are officials of the ministry of petroleum, the other two are middle men who were acting as go in betweens.
The crime branch is also questioning a journalist in connection with this case.
