4-Year-Old Girl Raped In Rajasthan's Dausa; Accused Sub-Inspector Arrested

A police sub-inspector in Rajasthan's Dausa district was accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.

Reportedly occurring in the Lalsot area of the district, the incident unfolded when the accused sub-inspector, identified as Bhupendra Singh, allegedly lured the minor to his room in the afternoon and assaulted her, according to ASP Ramchandra Singh Nehra.

The accused has been apprehended and is currently under interrogation, as confirmed by ASP Ramchandra Singh Nehra.

In response to the incident, local residents gathered in large numbers and encircled the Rahuwas police station, protesting against the police and expressing their outrage. They took matters into their own hands and physically confronted the accused sub-inspector before he was officially handed over to the police.

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kirodi Lal Meena arrived at the scene and commented on the gravity of the situation. He stated, "There is immense anger among the people over the incident of rape of a Dalit girl by a policeman in Lalsot. I have reached the spot to seek justice for the innocent child."

Meena also criticized the state government, asserting, "The police, which has become autocratic due to the incompetence of the Ashok Gehlot government, is not desisting from committing atrocities even on a sensitive occasion like elections."

Assuring severe action against the accused, ASI Bhupendra Singh, Meena stated that he would be dismissed from his job. Additionally, he pledged that the police and the family would provide assistance to all affected members of the survivor's family. Meena affirmed that compensation would be granted to the survivor's family in light of the distressing incident.
