Police Rescue 200 Youths from Fake Job Racket in Bihar's Purnea District

Approximately 200 young individuals, primarily from West Bengal, were rescued after a fraudulent job scheme was uncovered in Bihar's Purnea district, according to police reports. Five individuals were apprehended in relation to this case. The operation was exposed when Akhil Mandal, a victim from West Bengal's Dakshin Dinajpur district, managed to escape and alert the authorities.

Rescue of 200 Youths from Job Scam in Bihar

The police conducted raids at multiple sites in Purnea, liberating 200 youths from the perpetrators' control. According to a police statement, these youths were mainly from West Bengal and had been lured with job promises to Purnea. Purnea is situated near the Bihar-West Bengal border.

Fake Job Racket Uncovered

The suspects operated an online scam, instructing those who contacted them to transfer Rs 21,000. Upon arrival in Purnea, victims were threatened and confined in rented accommodations without receiving the promised employment. Akhil Mandal managed to escape and filed a complaint at the SP office.

The police are continuing their search efforts and have initiated an investigation into the matter. The arrested individuals include Sukumar Rai, Tara Shankar Sharma, Jehangir, and Vishnu Mandal from West Bengal, along with Shivpal Hembram from Bihar’s Araria district.
