2 terrorists killed in Shopian; encounter underway

Srinagar, April 7: Two terrorists have been killed by Indian security forces at Shopian in South Kashmir. The terrorists were killed following a major encounter which began late last night. The encounter is still underway.

The operation was launched after security forces were tipped off by the intelligence bureau about the presence of militants in the area.

Following a massive combing operation, the two terrorists were found following which the encounter began late last night.

The security forces also recovered two weapons. The operation is still underway and security forces want to make sure that there are no more terrorists present in the area.

It is still not clear as to which outfit these terrorists belong to. The facts are being ascertained said a senior official.
