Two arrested for passing info to Pak High Commission staffer
After a Pak HC official was detained on espionage charges, two people were arrested from Rajasthan
Jaipur, Oct 27: Two persons from Rajasthan have been arrested after it was found that they were leaking information to Mehmood Akthar, the staffer at the Pakistan High Commission.
Akhtar was detained and later released due to diplomatic immunity. He is likely to be deported to Pakistan in the next 24 hours.

The two people arrested in Rajasthan in this case have been identified as Subhash Jahangir and Maulana Ramzan. It is alleged that these people had been passing on crucial information. After the Intelligence Bureau tailed Akthar for a week, information was passed on the Delhi Police following which the staffer was detained.
The police found documents relating to the defence on Akhtar. On further probing, it was found that the details on him contained strategy relating to India's defence. It was found that these two people arrested in Rajasthan had passed on the information.

The police and the intelligence bureau are questioning Jahangir and Ramzan for more information. Officials would ascertain the extent of information that had been passed on to the staffer.
Meanwhile, Pakistan high commissioner reached the Ministry of External Affairs. He would be briefed about this case and also an explanation on the same would be sought. Officials say that Akthar was a staffer under Basit.
