15 killed, 30 injured in road mishap in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 20: At least 15 people were killed and 30 others injured today when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The bus turned turtle and fell into a deep gorge resulting in the death of 15 passengers, Tahir Sajad Bhat, SSP Reasi told PTI.

"15 persons have been killed and 30 others injured when a bus carrying 45 passengers that was on its way to Buckle from Reasi met with an accident near Reasi here today," Bhat said.

"The people who were seriously injured are being airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment," he said.

Police said some of the injured persons are in a critical conditions. "The rescue operation is going on and a police team and the district administration is on the spot," he said.
