141st IOC Session Kickstarts; PM Modi, Nita Ambani, Alia Bhatt, Neeraj Chopra & More At The Star Studded Event
In a dazzling display of glamour and sportsmanship, the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session kickstarted with a glittering opening ceremony, attended by global superstars from the worlds of sports and entertainment.
The event, held in Mumbai on Sunday, 15th October, witnessed the esteemed presence of the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who formally declared the IOC's 141st session open.

Mr. Thomas Bach, the President of the IOC, and Mrs. Nita M Ambani, an IOC member, graced the ceremony with their presence, setting the stage for an extraordinary session.
The IOC session, hosted in India after a span of four decades, was adorned by the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Bais, and the Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde, who, along with Honourable Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Shri Ajit Pawar, added their presence to the grand occasion.
Sports Minister of India, Shri Anurag Thakur, HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck of Bhutan, Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, Sebastian Coe, World Athletics President, PT Usha, the President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and a multitude of other eminent sporting dignitaries and federation heads were also in attendance.
India's pride was on full display, with its athletes who recently made history at the Asian Games joining the festivities. This star-studded gathering included:
Reigning Olympic and World Champion, Neeraj Chopra, alongside Olympic medalists Abhinav Bindra and Leander Paes, accompanied by India's National Hockey Team's ace, PR Sreejesh.
Cricket icons Jhulan Goswami and Harmanpreet Kaur, along with celebrated Olympians Anju Bobby George and Anjali Bhagwat.
Renowned sports team owners, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, were present, highlighting the strong connection between Bollywood and sports.
Pioneering athletes like Deepa Malik, the first Indian woman to medal at the Paralympics, and Manika Batra, the first Indian female table tennis player to secure a medal at the Asian Games, graced the event.
The youthful wave of Indian talent, including medalists from the Asian Games, such as Saurav Ghosal, Abhay Singh, Jyothi Yarraji, Jinson Johnson, Avinash Sable, and Parul Chaudhary, was also a part of this grand gathering.
The opening ceremony, a spectacular display of India's passion for sports and its abundance of global talent, set the stage for a remarkable 141st IOC Session, poised to exhibit India's sporting fervor and its prowess on the world stage.
