14-Year-Old Aligarh Boy Dies From Heart Attack While Practising For School Sports

A 14-year-old boy tragically passed away from a heart attack while running in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district earlier this week. The incident occurred on Friday in Sirauli village, where the boy, identified as Mohit Chaudhary, was training for an upcoming school sports competition.

Mohit had reportedly completed two laps with his friends before suddenly collapsing. His friends alerted his family, who promptly took him to a nearby hospital. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival, officials confirmed.

The school sports competition for which Mohit was preparing was scheduled for December 7, officials added.

Tragically, the boy's father had died in a road accident in August, adding to the family's recent hardships.

This case follows a similar incident last month in Aligarh, where a 20-year-old woman named Mamata suffered a fatal heart attack while running in Arrana village.

Aligarh has witnessed at least three additional cardiac arrests in the past 25 days. Among them, an eight-year-old girl collapsed while playing in Lodhi Nagar, a doctor suffered a fatal heart attack while getting ready for work, and on November 20, Syed Barkat Haider, the son of former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor SM Afzal, also succumbed to a cardiac arrest.

In September, a nine-year-old student in Lucknow similarly died from a cardiac arrest while playing at her school. According to school officials, she fell unconscious in the playground and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The growing number of cardiac arrests among young individuals in recent months has raised major concerns.
